1st Innings: Nomads Batting
Zurich lions started well with the ball when Nomads lost the wicket in very first over bowled by Kanishk when Ashwin was bowled on zero. Azeem and Fahim then built a good partnership before Amit took a spectacular catch to out Faheem on 4th over by Snehil. Miskeen and Azim built the innings again before Azim was trapped LBW by Mayur.
At the end of 7th over scoreboard was 67/3. Waqas and Miskeen built steadily before back-to-back wickets in the 14th over scorecard read 120/5. In order to up the ante Nomdas CC lost few more wickets but were able to fetch runs in the last 6 overs.
Nomads CC was expected to change gears and then Zurich Lions bowlers learnt from last match, did adapt well, and contained the Nomads batsmen. Lions bowled few exceptional last overs given the reputation of Nomads’ hard hitters plus some good catching by fielders ensured that Nomads CC couldn’t run away with huge total. At the end of the innings was 20 overs 162/9 which was commendable job by ZLCC bowlers and fielders. Miskeen made 56 and was highest scorer for Nomads.

2nd Innings - Lions Batting
Ankush and Kanishk in a disciplined chase and it was getting difficult for the openers to score quick runs, as the Nomads’ bowlers were accurate in their line and lengths. Ankush perished while trying to attack and soon after Kanishk was out too when the scorecard read 9 overs 36/2. Required run rate was above 10 and some chase was required to get those runs. Lokesh got out when ZLCC middle order batsmen were struggling to get going at the end of 11th over 49/3. Senthil and Mayur tried to cover ground as much as possible where Senthil played a scintillating innings of 51 keeping some hopes alive for ZLCC but it was too little too late and the target was beyond the reach at one point. Mayur got out at 17 overs 100/4. Lack of firepower and hesitant in intent made lions never in the hunt therefore a chase was getting out of question. Sheshu added some 15 runs to bridge the gap of deficit. However, ZLCC felt short of 47 runs as Nomads CC won the match.
The influence of the top and middle order again showed how important the attacking mindset must be. ZLCC couldn’t cross the lines again, Time to shifts things around quickly, re-group together and shift the focus to the next match which started again in 15 mins against Winterthur CC.
